Job Summary: As a Pharmacy Technician at Walgreens, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our pharmacies. You will be responsible for performing data entry and patient registration, resolving third-party rejects, and responding to high-volume customer inquiries. Key Responsibilities:
  • Process new patient registration by entering data into our pharmacy systems, handling patient prescription requests, and troubleshooting to obtain missing prescription information.
  • Handle correspondence with patients, including inbound calls, chats, and emails, and make outbound calls to prescribers and patients as needed.
  • Resolve Third Party Rejects by reviewing, gathering information, making corrections, and resubmitting for processing according to individual plan requirements.
  • Provide assistance to Pharmacists, both in the facility and at other locations, and identify and communicate issues to senior-level staff as appropriate.
  • Maintain an active technician license or certification within the first 90 days and throughout your employment.

Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Basic level PC skills, including starting and shutting down computers, using mice, and accessing information online.
  • Basic search engine skills, including opening browsers, typing URLs, and filling out forms online.
  • Intermediate level keyboarding skills, including touch typing and formatting documents.
  • Effective communication skills in writing and verbally.
  • 18 years of age or older.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least 1 year of pharmacy technician experience in a retail or call center environment.
  • At least 18 months as a pharmacy technician with a certificate/registration by state as granted by the State board for Pharmacy or nationally recognized certification agency.
  • Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers, including meeting quality standards for services and evaluating customer satisfaction.
  • Intermediate to advanced level keyboarding skills, including touch typing and formatting documents.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English.
