Respiratory Care Specialist Trainee

Covenant Health is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Respiratory Care Practitioner Trainee to join our team in a clinical setting. As a Respiratory Care Practitioner Trainee, you will have the opportunity to work under the supervision of a licensed Respiratory Therapist and gain hands-on experience in providing respiratory care to patients.
Key Responsibilities- Perform treatment and monitoring procedures as specified in the position-specific competencies, in accordance with physicians' orders and department protocols.
- Work under the supervision of a licensed Respiratory Therapist and gain experience in a clinical setting.
- Develop and maintain a working knowledge of vital signs, oxygen therapy devices, pulse oximetry, nebulizer treatment administration, and other respiratory care equipment.
- Provide comprehensive shift reports regarding respiratory care given to each assigned patient and outcomes observed.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers via electronic medical records.
- Enrolled in a COARC-accredited respiratory care educational program.
- No previous experience required.
- State of Maine Respiratory Care Trainee License.
- BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
