Job Summary

Covenant Health is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Respiratory Care Practitioner Trainee to join our team in a clinical setting. As a trainee, you will have the opportunity to work under the supervision of a licensed Respiratory Therapist and gain hands-on experience in providing respiratory care to patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform treatment and monitoring procedures as specified in the position-specific competencies, in accordance with physicians' orders and department protocols.
  • Work under the supervision of a licensed Respiratory Therapist to develop skills and knowledge in respiratory care.
  • Assist in the administration of oxygen therapy, nebulizer treatments, and other respiratory care procedures.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs, including breath sounds, and report any abnormalities to the supervising Respiratory Therapist.
  • Participate in the cleaning, sterilizing, and processing of respiratory care equipment.
  • Document patient information and treatment plans in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Communicate effectively with healthcare providers and other members of the care team.
Requirements
  • Enrolled in a COARC-accredited respiratory care educational program.
  • No previous experience required, but a strong desire to learn and grow in the field of respiratory care.
  • State of Maine Respiratory Care Trainee License.
  • BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
