Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Transfer Center team at Baptist Health System Inc. as a Transfer Center Registered Nurse. This role is responsible for coordinating direct admissions and hospital transfers to and from community hospitals, ensuring seamless patient care and efficient bed flow.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate all aspects of the transfer process, including direct admissions and hospital transfers.
  • Collaborate with referring facilities, physicians, and hospital staff to foster relationships and ensure effective communication.
  • Serve as a clinical resource for non-nursing transfer center staff, providing guidance on clinical decisions and documentation.
  • Maintain working knowledge of EMTALA and other regulations governing patient transfers.
  • Utilize applicable systems to facilitate bed flow and expedite patient placement.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • 4 years of experience in an acute care setting.
  • Possession of current Texas State License for Registered Nurse.
