Senior Accountant Position Summary

Novogradac & Company LLP is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for managing tax, audit, and other assignments with minimal supervision. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and clients.

Your Responsibilities
  • Complete tax and/or audit projects for designated clients with minimal oversight
  • Conduct thorough engagement reviews and accept increasing responsibility for engagement management
  • Recognize potential problem areas during engagements and propose effective solutions
  • Conduct business-specific research, gather and analyze data, interpret results, compile reports, and make recommendations
  • Develop and maintain effective client relationships through professionalism, responsiveness, and a service-oriented approach
  • Enhance skills in industries the Firm focuses on by seeking out and completing training courses
  • Manage time and the time of Staff Accountants efficiently, contribute ideas, and add value to the team
  • Supervise and mentor Staff Accountants
  • Other duties and projects as assigned
  • Work towards obtaining a CPA license if not already obtained

  • Maintain a professional demeanor with coworkers and clients
  • Ability to meet internal Firm deadlines
  • Available to work evenings and weekends based on position needs and to travel domestically if required
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree, preferably in accounting or finance, and 3-5 years of experience in public accounting and/or a balance of education and work experience. Ability to sit for the CPA exam or passed section of the CPA. CPA license a plus.

Experience with Affordable Housing, Low Income Housing Tax Credits, Opportunity Zones, Renewable Energy Tax Credits, Historical Tax Credits, Housing and Urban Development, New Markets Tax Credits, Real Estate, Developers, Partnerships, Housing Authority, Public Housing Authority, Community Development Financial Institutions, Community Development Entity Certification Applications, Property Compliance, Nonprofit, Single Audit, Uniform Guidance, A-133, Forecasting, Cost Segregation, Year 15 Exit, Tax-exempt bond, and HOME programs is helpful but not mandatory.

  • Compensation: $77,000 - $94,000 depending on experience. More is possible if experience dictates.
