Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Pharmacist to join our team at a prison facility in Miami, FL. As a Pharmacy Specialist with Health Advocates Network, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and effective distribution of medications to patients. This is an excellent opportunity to utilize your expertise in pharmacy practice and make a positive impact on the lives of those in need.

About the Role:

This position requires a highly motivated individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will have at least one year (12 months) of experience as a Pharmacist and be able to build rapport with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals. You will be responsible for screening drug orders for interactions and incompatibilities, consulting with physicians, and instructing patients on medication use.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary for this position is $56/hour, with Monday-Friday 6am-2pm shifts available. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as opportunities for professional growth and development.

Responsibilities:

  • Screens drug orders for drug interactions and incompatibilities
  • Screens outpatient prescriptions for billing information
  • Consults with physicians for medication orders
  • Instructs patients on medication use
  • Prepares and dispenses drugs and pharmaceutical preparations
  • Fills prescriptions
  • Assists in ward inspections
  • Checks Pharmacy Technician work
  • Updates reference books and treatment authorization requests
  • Bills medication administration records
  • Assists with chart reviews and audits
  • Coordinates medication borrowing procedures
  • Notifies persons of low stock levels
  • Completes daily I.V. rounds and checks patient profiles
  • Maintains and keeps clean and orderly condition of drug and chemical supplies
