About This Opportunity

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Academic Faculty Member to join our team at Miami Dade College. As a Physician Assistant Educator, you will play a key role in shaping the next generation of healthcare professionals by delivering high-quality instruction, mentoring students, and contributing to the development of our curricula.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver effective instruction in Associate of Science and Bachelor of Applied Science courses, incorporating best practices in teaching and learning
  • Participate in curriculum development and revision, ensuring alignment with industry standards and emerging trends in healthcare
  • Serve on School, Campus, and College committees, promoting collaboration and excellence across departments
  • Recruit, advise, and evaluate students, fostering a supportive learning environment and helping them achieve their academic goals
  • Prepare and submit student information to Department Chairperson, ensuring accurate records and timely reporting
  • Perform other duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in response to changing priorities and needs

Requirements

  • A Master's degree and 18 graduate semester hours in a Health Sciences field (e.g., Health Science, Medicine, Nursing, Physician Assisting, Public Health)
  • Valid national certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) for Physician Assistants
  • Ability to function well in a technological environment that includes using classroom and office multimedia resources
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with students with a wide range of skills
  • Ability to work well with students, faculty, staff, and the community in a multi-ethnic/multi-cultural environment
  • Possession of excellent organizational and human relations skills
  • Willingsness to work on multiple campuses/outreach locations and a flexible schedule that may include evening and weekend assignments
