Job Overview
This role is pivotal in ensuring a high standard of service delivery within a mission-driven environment. The focus is on providing exceptional customer support while maintaining a commitment to quality, dignity, and accountability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in program support, contributing to a culture that prioritizes member satisfaction and service excellence.
  • Collaborate with team members to fulfill departmental objectives and align with both short- and long-term strategic goals.
  • Respond to inquiries from members and providers regarding eligibility, enrollment, claims, and authorizations, ensuring clarity and understanding.
  • Act as a senior resource for colleagues, addressing complex issues and sharing knowledge on intricate processes.
  • Facilitate the coordination of healthcare and social service needs for members, liaising with various departments and external agencies.
  • Document all interactions accurately in internal systems to maintain comprehensive records of member and provider communications.
  • Initiate referrals to appropriate care management departments and community resources as necessary.
  • Adhere to departmental productivity and quality benchmarks, ensuring consistent performance.
  • Follow up on member and provider requests, providing additional assistance as required.
  • Engage in other projects and tasks as assigned to support the department's mission.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in customer service, including at least 1 year in a call center environment.
  • Typing proficiency of 35 words per minute is necessary.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience that meets the essential duties of the position may also be considered.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and one of the defined threshold languages (Arabic, Chinese, Farsi, Korean, Spanish, Vietnamese) is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1 year of experience in Health Maintenance Organizations (HMO), Medi-Cal/Medicaid, or related health services.
