Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Technologist to join our team at Virginia Jobs. As a Computed Tomography Technologist, you will play a critical role in performing routine to complex CT procedures for the diagnosis of disease and injury.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate CT Equipment: Ensure the proper operation of CT scanners and other equipment to produce high-quality images.
  • Prepare Patients: Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process, positioning them correctly, and ensuring their safety.
  • Conduct Quality Assurance: Perform quality assurance checks on equipment and procedure areas to ensure compliance with established protocols.
  • Collaborate with Healthcare Team: Work closely with radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Maintain Supply Inventory: Assist in maintaining supply inventory and ensuring that all necessary materials are available for procedures.
  • Participate in Service Improvement: Participate in ongoing service and process improvement efforts to enhance patient care and department efficiency.
Requirements
  • Education: Graduate of a JRC-accredited program in Radiography required. Associate's Degree preferred.
  • Certifications: Eligible for ARRT (CT) certification required. ARRT (R.T.) certification required. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
  • Experience: None required.
Physical Demands

The job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping, reaching (overhead, extensive, and repetitive), and repetitive motion (computer keyboard). Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills are required, as well as attention to detail and the ability to write legibly. The ability to lift/push/pull lbs. may be required, and the job may involve exposure to cold, dust, noise, radiation, blood/body fluids, and infectious disease.
