Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist to join our team at the University of Virginia. As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for performing routine to complex CT procedures for the diagnosis of disease and injury in accordance with established protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform CT procedures for patients, ensuring high-quality images and efficient workflow.
  • Operate CT equipment, maintaining a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
  • Prepare and position patients for procedures, explaining the process and ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Start IV access and inject contrast media under the direction of a physician, as needed.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses and patient care.
  • Participate in ongoing service and process improvement efforts, contributing to the development of new procedures and protocols.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a JRC-accredited program in Radiography, with an Associate's Degree preferred.
  • Eligible for ARRT (CT) certification, with certification required within one year of hire.
  • Registered Radiologic Technologist through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT R.T.), with American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
Physical Demands

The job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequent bending and stooping, and repetitive motion. The successful candidate must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds, and be exposed to cold, dust, noise, radiation, blood/body fluids, and infectious disease.
