The Kitchen Assistant at WelbeHealth plays a crucial role in delivering safe and therapeutic nutritional services at our day centers. This position involves receiving vendor-prepared meals, preparing them for participant service, monitoring the temperatures of cooling and warming equipment as required, and ensuring the kitchen environment is kept clean and hygienic at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Registered Dietitian in delivering safe and therapeutic nutrition services tailored to the diverse needs of WelbeHealth participants.
- Uphold proper storage standards for vendor-prepared meals prior to service.
- Measure and document food temperatures upon delivery and at regular intervals before serving, ensuring compliance with WelbeHealth policies and procedures.
- Prepare and plate meals according to participants' dietary specifications, preferences, and special requirements.
- Label and date all perishable items in WelbeHealth refrigerators and freezers, including pre-packaged meals for home delivery, ensuring all food is fresh and safe for consumption.
- Maintain inventory records for dishes, silverware, food supplies, and cleaning materials, and place orders for replacements as necessary.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification in CA Servsafe and Food Handlers.
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience in food service or preparation.
- Proven ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation for this role ranges from $20 to $22.93 per hour, plus bonuses and equity. WelbeHealth offers a competitive total rewards package that includes a 401k match, healthcare coverage, and a wide array of other benefits. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience and qualifications.
