This role involves providing comprehensive care to designated residents in a nurturing, secure, and efficient manner, adhering to established standards, protocols, and personalized care plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough nursing assessments for all residents upon admission and continuously as per state and federal guidelines, utilizing the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, intervention, and evaluation).
  • Exhibit proficiency in clinical skills as outlined in the Competency Verification and Training Checklist.
  • Ensure timely administration of prescribed medications, treatments, and procedures while following infection control protocols.
  • Procure necessary equipment and supplies to deliver effective care.
  • Perform glucometer testing and control monitoring accurately in accordance with established procedures.
  • Implement tailored strategies to manage resident behavior and enhance their emotional well-being as per individual care plans.
  • Oversee resident care documentation, making updates as required.
  • Record all actions and observations regarding changes in resident conditions following policy and procedure.
  • Document incidents or accidents in resident records and complete all necessary forms.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, including audits and corrective actions as assigned.
  • Complete designated sections of the MDS for Nursing and sign off on MDS forms to confirm the process is complete.
  • Process physician orders and ensure timely communication with physicians.
  • Attend or obtain resident reports prior to the start of shifts, observing and reporting on resident conditions.
  • Respond promptly to resident call lights and assist with education for residents and their families/significant others.
  • Report and ensure timely follow-up on signs and symptoms of resident infections.

Qualifications:

Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program. Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
Skills: Knowledge of fundamental nursing practices is essential.
