Position Title: Staff Assistant, Social Media

Department: Marketing Reporting To: Senior Manager, Social Media Status: Part-time/Hourly Overview: The Staff Assistant, Social Media will oversee content programming, copywriting, and collaborative content ideation with our creative team, managing daily operations for social media channels associated with our organization. The ideal candidate is a proactive team player with a comprehensive understanding of audience engagement with social media content, attention to detail, and a commitment to staying informed about emerging platforms, industry trends, and best practices. Location: This role is part-time and will be based on-site. Key Responsibilities:
  • Take the lead on emerging social platforms, focusing on content creation and posting for TikTok and Instagram. Support strategy and daily publishing on additional platforms such as Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
  • Collaborate with the Social Media Coordinator on daily copywriting and posting as required.
  • Manage content publishing on social channels, ensuring adherence to the content calendar and maintaining brand voice.
  • Oversee short-form social content editing, including behind-the-scenes footage, community events, and other relevant content.
  • Engage in community management across social platforms, actively responding to followers and exploring methods to enhance social interaction.
  • Conduct monitoring and research on current social trends and fan discussions to assist in ideation and storytelling opportunities.
  • Manage content tagging and organization on designated platforms.
  • Identify new opportunities and tools to broaden our brand's digital presence.
  • Provide social media coverage at community events and other relevant occasions.
  • Adhere to social media policies as outlined by the organization.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Associate's Degree with relevant experience.
  • Self-motivated and innovative, with a desire to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong knowledge and enthusiasm for the sports industry.
  • Ability to collaborate across departments and manage multiple social media requests effectively.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in various social media platforms.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
  • Strong professional communication and interaction skills.
  • Ability to make decisions that align with the best interests of the brand and organization.
