Job Summary

The Maintenance Building and Groundskeeper/Maintenance Level I will assist telecommunication engineers in the design and analysis of telecommunication networks, creating plans and drawings detailing the layout of routers, circuits, cables, switches, or other telecommunications equipment. This role ensures network connectivity for end-users, evaluates existing networks, and recommends design changes to improve performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist telecommunication engineers in the design and analysis of telecommunication networks.
  • Create plans and drawings detailing the layout of routers, circuits, cables, switches, or other telecommunications equipment.
  • Ensure network connectivity for end-users.
  • Evaluate existing networks and recommend design changes to improve performance.
  • Perform routine maintenance and operational tasks assigned.
  • Conduct general housekeeping of all maintenance areas.
  • Routine inspections of all equipment, including building and handling.
  • Use walk-behind scrubbers in maintenance shops.
  • Sweep dock pits.
  • Lock out dock levelers.
  • Clean under dock pods.
  • Maintain facility upkeep by picking up trash, sweeping, mopping, and dusting as needed.
  • Weekly test eyewash stations.
  • Clean roofs.
  • Paint offices, breakrooms, exterior areas, truck driver's lounge, etc.
Requirements
  • High school degree preferred.
  • Previous warehouse maintenance experience preferred but not required.
  • Working knowledge of electrical (PLC's relay logic and motor controls), hydraulics, mechanics, and excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics and plumbing.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints preferred but not required.
  • Physical demands include bending and lifting up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis, lifting up to 70lbs with assistance on an occasional basis, standing and walking for extended periods, using hands to handle objects, tools, or controls, speaking and hearing for safety and productivity, using scanners, tablets, radio, phones, and other warehouse machinery, lifting overhead, and working in an atmosphere range of +50 to -30 degrees F with a moderate noise level.
  • Ability to work overtime is an essential part of this position due to demand.
  • Have acceptable and/or correctable vision.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to manage stress and productivity guidelines.
