Building Maintenance Technician II

We are seeking a highly skilled Building Maintenance Technician II to join our team at Henry County, GA. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing routine to complex carpentry, painting, plumbing, and general mechanical repair work.
Key Responsibilities- Performs skilled and semi-skilled work in the maintenance, repair and/or renovation of County buildings and facilities.
- Reads blueprints or other design drawings to determine work to be performed.
- Performs rough and finish carpentry, painting, plumbing, and mechanical work.
- Performs building maintenance, renovations and repair tasks.
- Performs various electrical tasks.
- Performs various plumbing tasks.
- Performs general maintenance and repairs to heating and air-conditioning systems.
- Maintains door locks and controlled access.
- Assists in ensuring that operation, construction, and maintenance of buildings, equipment, and systems are in compliance with applicable laws, codes, regulations, and standards.
- Operates or uses various equipment, power tools, hand tools, and supplies in order to complete work assignments.
- Communicates with supervisor, other County employees, the public, and other individuals as needed to coordinate work activities, review status of work, exchange information, or resolve problems.
- High School Diploma or GED required, supplemented by some vocational or technical training in one or more building trades.
- One year of experience in building construction, maintenance and repair.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver's license.
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to prioritize tasks effectively. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, and will have excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
