General Overview

The Delivery Driver is responsible for providing timely, efficient, and courteous service to customers. This role involves delivering products to customers while ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of the delivery vehicle.

Reporting Structure

This position reports to: District Store Director; Store Manager; Assistant Managers of Store Operations, Perishables, and Health Wellness Home; Service Managers; Kitchen Department Manager; Floral Department Manager; Pharmacy Department Manager; Online Shopping Department Manager

Main Responsibilities

Provide exceptional customer service by demonstrating empathy, patience, and respect in all interactions. Greet customers warmly and engage with them positively, regardless of the location within the store. Strive to remember and use customers' names to foster a personal connection. Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and a positive work atmosphere. Deliver products to customers, process payments, and provide change as necessary. Return payments and initial cash to the store as required. Ensure food and groceries are maintained at the appropriate temperatures to comply with safety standards and guarantee quality. Adhere strictly to personal hygiene and dress code guidelines set by the department and company. Follow company policies and store-specific guidelines diligently. Report to work as scheduled and punctually.

Additional Responsibilities

Assist in various store areas as needed. Undertake other job-related tasks and special projects as assigned. Help maintain and service delivery vehicles.

Education and Experience

No specific educational qualifications are required.

Physical Demands

Visual requirements include the ability to see details at close range, with or without correction. Must be capable of performing medium work, including lifting or carrying objects up to 50 pounds occasionally, and frequently standing, walking, and lifting/carrying objects up to 25 pounds. Must be able to perform physical activities such as stooping, kneeling, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. Must be physically able to enter and exit a delivery vehicle multiple times daily and navigate stairs and rough terrain to reach delivery locations.

Work Environment

This role may involve exposure to dust, noise, temperature variations, dampness, vibrations, and hazards associated with equipment movement. There is a significant demand for timely product delivery.

Special Qualifications

Employees must hold a valid driver's license without DOT restrictions and be at least 18 years old to operate a company vehicle.

Financial Accountability

Responsible for managing payments received during product deliveries when applicable.

Interaction

Regular interaction with store personnel, customers, and the general public is expected.
