About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Controls Engineering Manager to lead our BAS technology platforms region-wide. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for enhancing and driving awareness and expertise for all things HVAC Controls.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead local Engineering teams in the development of quality submittal data
  • Coordinate with our (CEPC) Engineering Center of Excellence for overflow engineering
  • Communicate and collaborate with other leaders and managers, suppliers, and contractors
  • Prepare and deliver various engineering-related presentations, both internally and externally
  • Visit customer sites and meetings in support of our BAS business to assist with sales account managers calls and assist with gaining approval for Trane technology aligned with specifications
  • Interact and collaborate with Service Team and Intelligence Services training personnel to align with the (One) Trane concept
  • Serve as regional engineering leader and technical subject matter expert
  • Provide Validation and Support Technical parts of estimating for new projects & renovation work
  • Create detailed engineering plans, processes, and procedures for engineering team to use and abide by
  • Support and drive to resolution any issues brought to you from the Technical Field and Engineering Team
  • Propose and oversee estimates & budgets as well as timelines for engineering of projects
  • Check, Verify, and Confirm accuracy of work performed as well as methods and means used by Engineering Team
  • Conduct quality assurance checks to verify the quality of completed projects verified by field
  • Hire, train, and supervise engineering team members and assist with determination of staffing needs
  • Spearhead & develop initiatives to identify opportunities for new & improved processes
  • Perform product demonstrations and communicates control strategies to sales account managers
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 6-8 years of proven experience in the HVAC Controls Industry required; or equivalent combination of education and industry experience
  • Proven leadership skill required, must be self-motivated, analytical and possess problem solving skills, should have the ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to distill complicated topics and find solutions for a broader audience
  • Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, long correspondence, blueprint expertise, and specification manuals
  • Ability to write simple and complex correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one, small groups, to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
What We Offer
  • Total compensation for this role will include an incentive plan
  • Base Pay Range: $94,950-125,500

Location

This position has been designated as a Hybrid work schedule with work performed onsite 3 days each week. Up to 25% travel is expected throughout the region and candidates can be located in any of the following locations: Charlotte, NC, Charleston, SC, Columbia, SC, Greenville, SC, Richmond, VA, Roanoke, VA or Kingsport, TN.
