Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse First Assistant to join our team at Ascension Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo, MI.

The Registered Nurse First Assistant provides nursing care within Borgess Medical Center, utilizing specialized knowledge and skill to promote, maintain, and restore health. This role is responsible for collaborating with patients and healthcare teams to identify mutual goals, diagnose, treat, and evaluate human responses to actual or potential health problems.

• Provide high-quality patient care, adhering to policies and procedures, and demonstrating a commitment to excellence in every interaction.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to achieve patient-centered outcomes, incorporating knowledge of growth and development throughout the life span.
• Diagnose, treat, and evaluate patient responses to health problems, using evidence-based practices and maintaining accurate records.
• Develop and implement individualized plans of care, addressing physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals, ensuring seamless care coordination and transitions.

• Licensure/Certification: BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association obtained within 1 month of hire date required; Licensed Registered Nurse obtained within 3 months of hire date required.
• Education: The Registered Nurse must have an Associate's degree in Nursing (AAS) or Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN); Incumbents hired prior to 1/1/2015 are grandfathered with existing educational degrees.
• Experience: A minimum of four years of experience as a scrub/circulator in Perioperative practice is required; consideration will be given to Registered Nurses with previous experience as an RNFA.
