About the Opportunity

Are you passionate about advocating for the rights of children with disabilities? Do you have a strong background in special education law? If so, we invite you to apply for our Associate Attorney position.

This exciting opportunity offers a salary range of $160,000 - $240,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits and opportunities for professional growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients in various special education matters, including Impartial Hearing administrative proceedings and appeals to the New York State Education Department Office of State Review
  • Conduct legal research and draft relevant documents, including notices, witness affidavits, due process complaints, and direct examination questions
  • Negotiate with opposing counsel for possible settlement

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of litigation experience handling cases from inception through all stages of the litigation process
  • Strong knowledge of special education law and regulations
  • Excellent organizational, writing, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
