The PHYSICAL THERAPIST (P.T.) (Medicare Experience Required) is a licensed professional responsible for overseeing, assessing, and delivering physical therapy services to patients as directed by their healthcare provider. The Physical Therapist aims to rehabilitate and enhance essential motor skills. Services are rendered across various healthcare environments.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be a graduate from a physical therapy program accredited by the Council of Medical Education of the A.M.A. in collaboration with the American Physical Therapy Association or an equivalent institution.
LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
Must hold a current, unrestricted license or registration to practice physical therapy.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
A minimum of one year of experience as a physical therapist in a clinical environment is required.
CREDENTIALS
Current CPR certification as mandated by the client facility; other health screenings may be required by specific facilities and/or regulatory bodies.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Various healthcare settings; potential exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and other infectious materials.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Adhere to ATC policies and procedures.
- Follow client facility protocols.
- Develop, implement, and reassess the patient's care plan.
- Accurately document all services provided.
- Evaluate and set goals based on the patient's current capabilities and potential for progress.
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.
- Effectively communicate relevant information to appropriate personnel.
- Administer treatments to alleviate pain and/or restore function to achieve optimal performance.
- Plan for patient discharge, including preparing summaries and instructions.
- Deliver patient care in a respectful, non-discriminatory manner that acknowledges cultural diversity and age appropriateness, ensuring autonomy, rights, and dignity are upheld.
- Enhance professional skills through continuing education and meet state-specific requirements.
- Uphold ethical and professional standards of conduct.
