Medical Imaging Specialist

PeaceHealth is looking for a dedicated Medical Imaging Specialist to join our mission-driven organization. This role is a Per Diem/Relief position, offering a flexible schedule and a commitment to work-life balance.
Position Overview:
As a Medical Imaging Specialist, you will be responsible for preparing and conducting standard x-ray examinations, as well as performing fluoroscopic procedures. Your expertise will ensure that portable examinations and surgical x-ray procedures are executed with precision. You will utilize various radiographic equipment, applying proper positioning and selecting appropriate technical factors to achieve optimal imaging results.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct x-ray examinations based on patient information, collaborating with interpreting and ordering physicians as necessary.
2. Implement infection control and radiation safety measures during all procedures.
3. Adhere to the ALARA principle to maintain safety for yourself, patients, and visitors.
4. Evaluate patients for pregnancy prior to examinations when indicated.
5. Perform surgical x-ray examinations while following appropriate safety measures and AORN standards.
6. Engage in other patient care activities and responsibilities as assigned, in line with your training and scope of practice.
Qualifications:
Education:
Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
Certifications:
- ARRT-R certification required at the time of hire.
- Washington Radiology Technologist licensure required at the time of hire.
- Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required upon hire.
