Join a dynamic, multidisciplinary team of engineers dedicated to shaping the future of nuclear power plants.
The senior engineer will be tasked with analyzing various structures, including metallic, reinforced concrete, and soil-subgrade supported frameworks.

The analyses conducted will support engineering and regulatory requirements, facilitating the licensing and construction of SMR-300 plants worldwide.

The engineer will utilize and acquire knowledge of diverse methodologies and software tools to execute these analyses.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct and document analyses for a wide range of structures, systems, and components (SSCs)
Evaluate existing conceptual designs based on a vague set of requirements, then refine them into comprehensive designs through critical thinking, literature review, collaboration with other disciplines and vendors, and any analyses as dictated by project timelines
Assist in the preparation of design deliverables, presentations, and communicate design advancements in stakeholder meetings
Contribute to the development of engineering and regulatory requirements and documentation for nuclear SSCs

TYPICAL ANALYSES INCLUDE
Static and dynamic finite element analyses (FEA) utilizing ANSYS
Drop and impact analyses (e.g., missile and aircraft) and target response assessments using LS-DYNA
Simulation of seismic responses for freestanding structures in air or submerged in water
Static and dynamic evaluations of large reinforced concrete or steel-concrete composite structures
Soil-structure interaction (SSI) and fluid-structure interaction (FSI) analyses
Beam and plate stress calculations based on established principles of material strength

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must hold a BS in Mechanical/Civil/Structural Engineering with at least 6 years of relevant experience. An MS will be considered equivalent to 2 years of experience, while a Ph.D. will equate to 4 years of experience (experience from MS and Ph.D. cannot be combined)
Familiarity with industry standards and design codes such as ASME, ASCE, ACI, and AISC
Demonstrated proficiency in solid mechanics principles
Exceptional technical writing and communication skills are essential

PREFERRED SKILLS
Experience in contemporary stress analysis software such as ANSYS, LS-DYNA, and STAAD.Pro
Previous experience in the nuclear sector, including interactions with regulatory bodies
Expertise in seismic and stress analysis of pressure vessels and rotating machinery
Experience in the modular design development of SSCs
