Position Overview:

SUMMARY:

The Procurement Management Specialist plays a pivotal role in assisting the Marketing Category Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Achieve comprehensive understanding of Tyson Foods' Marketing & Sales categories.
  • Collaborate with Senior Managers and the Associate Director for Supplier and Category Management to categorize Suppliers and maintain an updated database for annual evaluations.
  • Deliver analytical support for the Supplier Performance process in alignment with established Statement of Work (SOW) requirements, Service Level Agreements (SLAs), Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and other relevant metrics; identify deficiencies and propose enhancement strategies as necessary.
  • Engage with various Procurement teams to foster effective supplier relationships and address critical needs.
  • Assist in the scheduling, organization, and facilitation of Supplier Business Reviews.
  • Coordinate communication and meetings between Suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on intricate supplier transitions, ensuring timely and cost-effective completion.
  • Implement and comply with company-wide Supplier Quality policies, procedures, and reporting requirements; support audits as necessary.
  • Assist in the qualification and testing of new suppliers as required.
  • Facilitate effective communication with internal customers, stakeholders, and suppliers to enhance all relationships.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor's degree or a combination of education and experience equivalent to this requirement.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Procurement, Marketing, Supplier Management, or a related field.

Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with eProcurement Source-to-Pay tools is preferred; experience in spreadsheet, database, and statistical analysis is advantageous; knowledge of Supplier Performance & Risk Management tools is desirable; proven capability to learn new applications.

Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities are essential.

Special Skills: Understanding of supplier quality and risk management policies and regulatory compliance; ability to build and maintain productive relationships with customers and third-party vendors; demonstrated conflict resolution capabilities; ability to identify, assess, and mitigate risks; knowledge of procurement governance, processes, and policies; strong analytical skills to interpret data and complex issues.

Exemplary customer service, problem-solving, and decision-making skills; ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines; proven ability to manage multiple tasks and assignments concurrently.

Supervisory Skills: Proven ability to influence without formal authority.

Travel Requirements: Up to 4 domestic trips annually.
