Job Summary:
This internship provides an opportunity to learn the entire cattle procurement process at Tyson Foods Inc.
As a Cattle Procurement Summer Intern, you will be responsible for learning scale house procedures, including booking loads for local cattle deliveries and maintaining an effective book schedule for accuracy in plant slaughter operations.
You will have the opportunity to train in grade and yield sheet information, weight docks, and other buying procedures.
Upon completion of your internship, you will fully comprehend Tyson's buying practices, positioning you well for advancement in becoming a Cattle Buyer.
Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program with at least one year of school remaining.
- Agriculture or Business-related majors preferred.
- Previous cattle experience preferred.
- Travel to production facilities may be required.
- Basic Computer Knowledge (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; possess leadership and persuasive selling skills while demonstrating a strong work ethic.
