Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Perioperative Patient Care Assistant to join our team at MemorialCare Long Beach Medical Center. As a key member of our multidisciplinary healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support in the Surgery Services nursing unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform basic patient care tasks, maintaining patient safety, comfort, and privacy.
  • Participate as a member of the healthcare team, respecting patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Apply infection control policies and procedures consistently.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and healthful environment.
  • Attend department-specific staff meetings, in-services, education, and training.
  • Participate in selected department-specific Performance Improvement Projects.
Requirements
  • Prior work experience in an acute hospital setting is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of standard perioperative care procedures is required.
  • A current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (CPR & AED) certification is required.
  • High school diploma or equivalency is required.
