Pediatric Sedation Nurse Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pediatric Sedation Nurse to join our team at UNC Medical Center. As a member of our Pediatric Specialty Care Team, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care to pediatric patients undergoing procedures requiring moderate sedation.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pediatric acute care and experience with moderate sedation. You will be responsible for monitoring and providing procedural moderate sedation, assisting during and recovering pediatric patients receiving deep sedation, inserting PICC lines and peripheral IVs, and providing interventions for CVAD complications.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality patient care to pediatric patients undergoing procedures requiring moderate sedation
  • Monitor and provide procedural moderate sedation
  • Assist during and recover pediatric patients receiving deep sedation
  • Insert PICC lines and peripheral IVs
  • Provide interventions for CVAD complications
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive patient care
Requirements:
  • Graduation from a school of professional nursing
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification
  • At least one year of nursing experience, preferably in pediatric acute care
