We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our team at OhioGuidestone as a School-Based Behavioral Health Specialist. This role will involve developing and maintaining service relationships with clients, families, and caregivers to provide them with support as needed.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of human behavior and performance, as well as experience in providing cognitive-behavioral therapy to individuals struggling with emotional and behavioral health issues. They will be responsible for assessing clients for high-risk behavior, teaching them social, coping, and conflict resolution skills, and providing first-line crisis intervention and mediation as necessary.

The School-Based Behavioral Health Specialist will also serve as a liaison to coordinate referrals or arrange for community resources when needed, and act as an advocate for the client as needed. They will maintain accurate and timely documentation of client interactions, including legal, financial, and clinical documentation within agency guidelines.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain service relationships with clients, families, and caregivers
  • Provide cognitive-behavioral therapy to individuals struggling with emotional and behavioral health issues
  • Assess clients for high-risk behavior and provide targeted interventions
  • Teach social, coping, and conflict resolution skills to clients
  • Provide first-line crisis intervention and mediation as necessary

Requirements:

  • High school diploma with 3 years of mental health or related experience, or Associate's degree in Social Work, Human Services, or related field with 1 year of mental health or related experience
  • Valid Ohio Driver's License with a safe driving record and valid insurance
  • Ability to take and pass a physical exam, tuberculosis test, and drug screening
