Mental Health Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a visionary Psychiatrist to join our team at the North Central Correctional Complex in Marion, Ohio. As a key member of our mental health team, you will be responsible for guiding patients towards emotional well-being and recovery. Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and manage the mental health program and services of the facility.
- Accept referrals for inmate evaluations, make necessary judgments, and recommendations.
- Coordinate mental health referrals to other resources when deemed appropriate.
- Develop and conduct preventative mental health programs, inclusive of inmate training, counseling, recreation activities, discipline, orientation, and other support services.
- Provide staff training, both group and individual, in-staff counseling techniques.
- Maintain and monitor confidentiality of inmates and their files, observing applicable HIPAA rules.
- Promote the development of positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors and intervening when inappropriate behaviors are observed.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in psychiatry, preferred, with a MD specialty in psychiatry and three (3) years of related experience.
- Must have a license or certification as required by the state of Ohio.
- Board certified in psychiatry.
- Valid driver's license in the state of Ohio with an acceptable driving record, required unless waived by management.
