Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil Law Expert to join our team at HQDA Field Operating Agencies and Staff Support Agencies. As a Senior Civil Law Expert, you will serve as a senior Army expert, advising the senior Army leadership and the Commander, USALSA, on civil law and litigation in general and significant matters in particular.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advise senior leaders on highly sensitive federal civil law and litigation matters brought in federal courts.
  • Lead teams of legal experts in highly complex federal court litigation.
  • Provide technical supervision of four active litigating divisions with over 100 attorneys and paralegal support staff.
  • Make policy recommendations and provide technical guidance on civil law and litigation matters.
Requirements
  • Must be a member in good standing of the Bar of the state, territory of the United States, District of Columbia, or the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
  • Must have a Juris Doctorate (J.D.) or Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) or Master of Laws (LL.M.) from an accredited school.
  • Must have extensive knowledge and legal experience in federal civil procedure.
  • Must have expertise in constitutional challenges and military personnel litigation.
Working Conditions
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain the appropriate clearance and access level for this position.
  • Must be able to travel on both scheduled and unscheduled aircraft, and other modes as required, under conditions specified under the DoD Joint Travel Regulations.
