Job Description

Mathis Law Group is seeking an experienced Business Law Attorney to join our Firm. This is a full-time, remote position, with the opportunity for a hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert counsel and innovative legal solutions to sophisticated business clients and owners
  • Manage multiple business and transportation transactions and projects, overseeing matters from beginning to end and ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Conduct in-depth legal research and analysis related to business transactions and transportation laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Draft and review agreements, corporate governance documents, opinion letters, and other legal documents in a broad array of business and transportation matters to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Negotiate pre-litigation disputes and agreements on behalf of clients, leveraging your expertise to achieve favorable outcomes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues within the Firm to contribute to a cohesive and supportive team environment.
  • Develop and implement proactive resolution strategies, providing regular updates to clients and stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor from an American Bar Association (ABA) accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice in the State of Florida.
  • Experience handling business transactions, mergers, acquisitions, corporate governance, commercial contracting, employment law, risk analysis and management, insurance coverages, and business restructuring and asset protection.
  • Transportation and logistics, trucking, and related regulatory and compliance experience preferred.
  • Superior research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and fast-paced environment.
  • Sophisticated technical skills necessary.

The Firm

Mathis Law Group serves the legal and business needs of the transportation and logistics industry. A Florida-based firm with a national transportation practice, our legal team is experienced in regulatory compliance, business structuring and transactions, commercial and civil litigation, collections, cargo and freight claims, insurance coverage, claims, and disputes, labor and employment, defense of motor vehicle accidents, mergers and acquisitions, workers' compensation, driver leasing, warehousing, US Customs, and other related matters. We also represent clients in a variety of other industries, including construction and emergency repair services, real estate development and land use, professional services, product distribution and retail services.

Compensation and Benefits:

The expected salary range for this position is between $90,000 and $115,000 but will be commensurate with skills and experience.

Mathis Law Group is committed to providing a comprehensive, competitive, and thoughtful compensation package to our Firm members. This compensation and benefits information is based on the Firm's estimate as of the date of publication and may be modified in the future. The level of pay within the salary range will depend on a variety of job-related factors that may include without limitation qualifications, relevant experience or education, particular skills or expertise, and other factors. Other compensation may include an annual performance and discretionary merit bonus, which would be determined by Firm and individual performance. The Firm will supply the necessary computer and accessory equipment to facilitate the remote or hybrid schedule.
