Job Summary

Metrics LLC is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to lead our modernization efforts in business processes and systems that enhance the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) mission-critical operations.

The successful candidate will ensure the timely delivery of all project objectives while maintaining strong stakeholder communication.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the full project lifecycle, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closing phases for the VA OSP modernization initiative.
  • Develop, update, and maintain the Project Management Plan (PMP), ensuring all tasks, schedules, and risks are clearly documented and communicated.
  • Oversee project execution to meet performance objectives, deliverables, and timelines as outlined in the Statement of Work (SOW).
  • Coordinate and conduct kick-off meetings, status reports, weekly team meetings, and monthly reviews with the VA Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) and key personnel.
  • Manage project risks, identifying potential issues, and developing and executing mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
  • Lead cross-functional teams, including subcontractors, to achieve project goals and resolve challenges.
  • Communicate effectively with VA stakeholders and government partners to ensure transparency and alignment with VA's strategic objectives.
  • Ensure all project deliverables meet VA's quality standards, including the creation and deployment of tools and methodologies for data analysis and presentation.
  • Oversee requirements development, business process improvements, and provide continuous support to VA stakeholders.
  • Manage project budgets, prepare monthly finance reports, and ensure all financial aspects align with the contract's obligations.
  • Ensure adherence to VA compliance, security policies, and federal standards throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of Emergency Management Operations and Preparedness.
  • Knowledge of Security and Law Enforcement.
  • Proven experience in business process reengineering and modernization projects within government or similarly large organizations.
  • Proficiency in project management software such as Microsoft Project or Smartsheet for developing schedules, tracking milestones, and monitoring risks.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with experience managing cross-functional teams and delivering high-quality results.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and present to senior stakeholders.
  • Experience with VA systems and operations is preferred.
  • PMP certification or similar project management certification is preferred.
