We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Biomedical Data Scientist to join our team at insitro. As a member of our Computational Microscopy group, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing cutting-edge image analysis pipelines to extract biologically meaningful signals from high-content imaging data.

About the Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to work with our world-class therapeutic discovery teams to accelerate drug development. You will be responsible for prototyping, developing, and scaling microscopy methods and image analysis pipelines to better sense cellular state in the presence of treatments or genetic perturbations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with therapeutic discovery teams to use insitro's imaging platform for industrial-scale drug target validation
  • Develop and implement computational imaging and computer vision algorithms to detect phenotypes from pixel data
  • Collaborate with software developers and machine learning engineers to design, test, and deploy scalable image processing pipelines for drug target validation
  • Join a team of experts to create training materials and host office hours to assist insitro scientists and engineers
Your Skills and Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience (e.g., M.S. with 3+ years of industry experience)
  • Understanding of microscopy fundamentals, including components and modalities
  • Proficient in developing software pipelines for image processing in Python
  • Comfortable collaborating with a diverse team, especially those in the biological sciences
  • Enthusiasm for developing better therapeutic options for patients in need
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is $165,000 - $175,000 per year, depending on your skills and experience. Our benefits package includes:
