Solar Electrical Superintendent Job Description

Cinterra is seeking a highly skilled Solar Electrical Superintendent to join our team. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for coordinating the site electrical construction schedule, execution plan, and managing daily issues involved during the construction of solar generation projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate all electrical site construction activities and supervise electrical field personnel to ensure successful project completion on schedule and within budget.
  • Build a safe, high-quality, and profitable solar project by maintaining positive relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers, and other employees.
  • Provide accurate information about site activities, including install rates, task completion, and hazards, to the Construction Site Manager.
  • Schedule and ensure appropriate staffing for daily construction activities with employees.
  • Identify potential schedule changes, workflow, and staffing issues, and implement solutions.
  • Maintain electrical construction schedules, identify upcoming issues, and solve problems.
  • Order materials and schedule inspections as necessary throughout the process.
  • Understand project plans and specifications, and ensure compliance.
  • Prepare schedules and supervise completion of a final electrical punch list.
  • Ensure transmission line structures, including foundations and access, are built as per specification.
  • Execute site prep work as per contracts, design, and specification.
  • Manage quality control programs to ensure processes are implemented according to design and are consistent.
  • Maintain an organized job site, including the onsite construction office.
  • Manage QA for electrical construction, design change notices, subcontractor contracts, and electrical materials on site.
  • Ensure the highest level of safety for electrical crews.
  • Ensure all required permitting activities are completed before commencing work.
  • Attend work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • 4+ years of experience in solar construction or utility construction environment.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Advanced level of knowledge in safety and OSHA requirements, LOTO implementation and management, electrical installation experience, interpretation of project schedules, planning and task direction, adaptability to environment, working in fast-paced environments, interpretation of scopes of work, project permits, decision-making, understanding environmental concepts, and contract management.
  • Intermediate level of knowledge in project management, creating logical and resource-loaded project schedules, budget analysis and controls, estimating work efforts, change orders, QA/QC processes, development of processes and procedures, continuous improvement, project finance, and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Basic level of knowledge in engineering management, scheduling software, and proficient in construction in both electric substations and transmission lines.

  • Rarely: Climbing, crouching, and kneeling, stooping.
  • Occasionally: Carrying 5-15lbs., gripping, handling, pinching, pulling 31-50 lbs, pushing 31-50 lbs, and lifting 31-50 lbs are required.
  • Occasionally: Exposure to extreme cold, vibrations, extreme heat, humidity, and wet working conditions.
  • Frequently: Sitting, standing, and walking is required.
  • Frequently: Exposure to noise and hazards.
  • Constantly: Reading, grasping, reaching, vision, repetitive motion, and hearing is required.

The final agreed-upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. This position is bonus eligible. We maintain a drug-free workplace.
