Summary
Are you passionate about nurturing young minds and fostering a positive learning atmosphere? At A Joyful Noise Child Development Center, we are dedicated to providing exceptional childcare services and are in search of enthusiastic and skilled individuals to join our educational team.

We are currently looking for educators to work with various age groups, ranging from infants to school-age children. Our center caters to children from 4 weeks to 11 years old.

As a lead educator, you will be responsible for creating a cohesive teaching environment, coordinating educational programs, and overseeing the daily operations of your classroom.

It is essential for educators to have a comprehensive understanding of children's developmental stages—cognitive, social, emotional, and physical—to ensure a safe and engaging learning environment that promotes active participation and success.

Effective communication skills are crucial for interacting with children and adults alike, enabling you to meet the needs of the children, guide assistant teachers, and address parental inquiries.

Childcare educators are expected to demonstrate patience, compassion, and creativity while working in the classroom. Our goal is to cultivate a nurturing and stimulating environment that supports cognitive growth and development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish a positive learning environment that reflects the values of A Joyful Noise.
  • Adhere to Early Achievers Quality Standards and comply with relevant childcare regulations.
  • Build strong relationships with families, children, staff, and community partners.
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote positive behavior among children.
  • Monitor and document children's growth, development, and behavior.
  • Address the emotional, social, physical, and cognitive needs of each child.
  • Maintain a clean, hygienic, and safe learning environment.
  • Keep accurate records and documentation as required.
  • Be prepared to engage in physical activities such as kneeling, bending, and lifting.
  • Exhibit high energy and collaborate effectively with staff, children, and parents to foster teamwork.
  • Plan and execute age-appropriate activities that promote social, cognitive, and emotional development.
  • Support the individual needs of children and their families.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of center policies and educational expectations.
  • Design activities aligned with curriculum goals and developmentally appropriate practices.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of a background check.
  • 30 STARS hours in childcare basics.
  • Certification in Infant/Child CPR and First Aid.
  • Food Handler's certification.
  • Negative Tuberculosis (TB) test.
  • Completion of Infant Safe Sleep and Mandated Reporter training.
  • MMR and COVID-19 vaccinations.

We are willing to assist candidates in obtaining the necessary qualifications in a timely manner. A Joyful Noise offers on-site paid training upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field with at least 30 credits in ECE.
  • Short certificate in Early Childhood Education.
  • Minimum of one year of childcare experience.
  • Familiarity with Early Achievers and ProCare Software.
  • Strong understanding of child development principles.
  • Knowledge of Washington Administrative Code (WAC) for childcare.
