Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Forensic Psychologist to join our team. As a Forensic Psychologist, you will play a critical role in assessing and treating individuals with mental health needs within the justice system.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive diagnostic evaluations of inmates to determine their post-release level of care needs and mental health needs while in custody.
- Use forensic psychological training to assess diversion suitability and competency to stand trial.
- Provide updates to the court on a regular basis and present in court for all necessary hearings.
- Assist providers in understanding the needs of the court, requirements for treatment, and legal standards for specific penal code sections.
- Act as a consultant on competency evaluations to other clinicians.
- Assist judicial officers and attorneys in understanding the availability of services to facilitate realistic treatment possibilities.
- Provide liaison services between court officers and treatment providers.
- Be able to answer legal questions about clients with attorneys and mental health providers.
- Ensure the court receives timely progress report updates according to court orders.
- Understand legal stipulations and take them into consideration when developing care plans.
- Collaborate with and offer mental health training to probation officers, law enforcement, and other justice partners.
- Evaluate client response to treatment, modify treatment strategies, and include the client in the decision-making process.
- Utilize various treatment modalities, including psychotherapy, behavior modification, and evidence-based practices.
- Review relevant records and information from the criminal justice system and mental health system when making treatment recommendations.
- Retrieve reports for the court as needed.
- $150, $165,000.00 Annually for Adult Full-Time (40-hours per week) W-2 Employees
