Overview

The Production Scheduler is primarily accountable for ensuring precise planning parameters are established within a Lean Manufacturing framework and monitoring production orders to meet both customer and internal requirements. This role involves analyzing work center loads for effective capacity management. Additionally, the Production Scheduler will ensure accurate inventory levels by addressing any labor reporting discrepancies. This position requires close collaboration with Operations, Product Engineering, Purchasing, and Customer Service. Furthermore, the Production Scheduler will engage with department heads to assess the status of assigned projects, expedite operations that hinder schedules, and prepare production reports.

Responsibilities
  • 100% Onsite Work, No Remote Work
  • Ensure timely assessment of customer demand and provide feedback to the Customer Service and Sales teams.
  • Determine the necessary quantities and availability of materials required to satisfy customer demand, and oversee the release of shop orders accordingly.
  • Proactively communicate across the organization regarding scheduling issues and opportunities to ensure timely deliveries and achievement of objectives.
  • Collaborate with department supervisors to ascertain the status of scheduled work.
  • Serve as the information hub for all matters concerning delivery schedules.
  • Expedite operations that delay schedules and adjust schedules to accommodate unforeseen circumstances.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing to expedite problematic parts and reschedule material deliveries to mitigate excess inventory.
  • Close shop orders ensuring proper material consumption. Perform inventory movements and adjustments as necessary.
  • Communicate with various departments regarding any potential production issues or requirements.
  • Support cross-plant/departmental teams and projects as needed.
  • Engage with shop floor personnel regarding any issues.
  • Implement and maintain all components of the performance management system for all direct reports.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications
  • Proficient in SAP, Kanban & Lean Manufacturing
  • Knowledge in Blueprint Reading
  • Understanding of Labor Reporting
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills in working with both external and internal customers
  • Strong team player
  • Basic understanding of materials planning and inventory concepts
  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes
  • Creative problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Associate degree with a business emphasis
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in production planning
  • Basic knowledge of Word and Excel
