Job Summary
Cardinal Health is seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Manager to lead our pharmacy operations. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating, directing, and managing all administrative and clinical activities to ensure the safe, efficient, and effective delivery of pharmacy services.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and direct all clinical activities, including supervision of refilling machines, medical prescriptions database entries, and dispatch of medicines.
- Plan, coordinate, and direct all administrative activities, including scheduling of pharmacy technicians tasks, monitoring process compliance, and monthly reporting.
- Implement processes and procedures to comply with regulations for medicine handling, including reception and storage of medicines, inventory and expenses controls.
- Manage day-to-day activities of the pharmacy technicians and monitor their performance to meet departmental goals.
- Communicate with nursing, doctors, and administrative areas to provide alternatives and make and/or supervise preparation of intravenous drugs.
- Maintain pharmacists' certifications and maintenance of database privileges and access controls to medical records.
- Provide pharmaceutical care to patients as a staff pharmacist.
- Assess and maintain pharmacy inventory and execute necessary orders, including reviews, to maintain optimal supply and ongoing availability of drugs.
- Lead processes for hiring of pharmacy staff, onboarding, and performance management, including leadership of competency evaluations process and documentation.
- Manage internal workflows of acute pharmacy, including optimization of staffing and scheduling to maintain best-in-class and streamlined pharmacy operations.
- Participate in meetings and provide insight to hospital committees to ensure coordination among cross-functional groups.
- Assist in execution of plans for lowering costs, increasing efficiency, and driving profitable growth to support strategic business objectives in the acute pharmacy business.
- Assume responsibility for Quality Assurance monitoring and completing End of the Month reports as assigned by the Director of Pharmacy.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in pharmacy or PharmD.
- Must be a good standing licensed Pharmacist in the state of Texas, or able to obtain licensure.
- Prior inpatient/hospital experience highly preferred.
- Prior management experience highly preferred.
- IV certified or ability to obtain certification.
- Computer savvy to learn and perform successful operation of multiple pharmacy information systems.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel/PowerPoint/Word).
- Ability to see, hear, write, and speak clearly in order to communicate with customers and health care professionals.
- Excellent planning, organizing, and leadership skills.
- Strong customer orientation and negotiation skills.

- Competitive salary range: $108,300 - $162,395.
