About the Job

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a skilled Hydrovac Truck Operator to join our team at Kanaan Communications, LLC. As a Hydrovac Truck Operator, you will be responsible for operating a Hydrovac truck in utility construction, performing various tasks such as loading, delivery, digging, and operating equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate construction equipment, including Hydrovac trucks, to perform tasks such as loading, delivery, digging, and excavation.
  • Install underground telecommunications cabling and other utility infrastructure.
  • Maintain work areas, including setting up safety perimeters and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, customers, and vendors to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Complete daily production reports and assist with site restoration efforts.
  • Perform hand digging using shovels and mechanical tools, and maintain safe working habits and conditions.
Requirements
  • Previous experience operating a vac truck is required.
  • Must have experience working around digging/trenching equipment and understand their capabilities and limitations.
  • Ability to follow instructions and read and understand work orders, safety rules, and operating instructions.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record and an Unrestricted Class A CDL with Tanker Endorsement.
  • Must be safety-conscious and able to effectively communicate with crew, customers, and vendors.
  • May be required to work overtime, including after regular business hours, weekends, or be on emergency on-call as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous construction experience or utility construction experience.
  • Ability to read prints and interpret utility maps to identify the type and size of underground utilities.
Physical Requirements

The employee will be required to stand, crouch, sit, bend, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms to spaces both high and low. The employee will also be required to climb into and out of equipment, lift/carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 LBS as needed with or without assistance.
