The role of the Café Operations Supervisor is crucial to the smooth and energetic team that contributes to the welcoming atmosphere of Grand Central Bakery's cafés. This position is dedicated to serving appetizing food and beverages to a loyal customer base. The Supervisor is expected to efficiently manage various shifts, including working at the sandwich bar during peak hours, and frequently assumes the role of Person in Charge (PIC).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily café operations and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Assist in training and mentoring café staff.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues that arise.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Basic math skills are necessary.
  • Food handler's card is required; new hires must obtain a valid card before starting.
  • Experience with point-of-sale systems is preferred.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in food service is preferred.
  • Must exhibit professionalism and a friendly demeanor with customers.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for the entire shift.
  • Capable of working in a bustling environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 20 lbs.
  • Exposure to flour dust and other grain dusts is expected.
