Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Product Development Engineer to join our team at U.S. Tsubaki. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for designing and developing high-quality roller chain components and assemblies.

Your primary focus will be on creating innovative solutions that meet the needs of our customers. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that our products meet the highest standards of quality, performance, and reliability.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from designing new products to improving existing ones. You will also be responsible for collaborating with our manufacturing and quality teams to ensure that our products are produced efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop roller chain components and assemblies using solid modeling software and industry-standard GD&T principles.
  • Perform product-related contract reviews and ensure that all customer orders and product configurations meet our quality and performance standards.
  • Define performance criteria for roller chain designs, including key properties such as dimensions, materials, and hardness.
  • Generate component and assembly manufacturing routings and ensure that all production processes meet our quality and efficiency standards.
  • Evaluate existing roller chain products for quality, performance, and cost improvement opportunities and implement changes as needed.
  • Write and maintain specifications for our roller chain product lines and ensure that all documentation meets ISO 9001 QMS requirements.
  • Develop and implement qualification plans for new product designs and adaptations to ensure that they meet our quality and performance standards.
  • Provide technical support to customers, sales teams, and internal stakeholders, including product training and technical documentation.
  • Lead or support internal improvement projects and continuously improve our operations to meet our quality and efficiency goals.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Three plus years of related experience in product development, design, or engineering.
  • Strong CAD skills and experience with design software such as SolidWorks or equivalent.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to comprehend and apply principles of math skills as they apply to tooling design and machining processes.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
