Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Revenue Cycle Services Cash Application Specialist to join our team at Novant Health. As a key member of our revenue cycle team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely posting of patient payments, adjustments, and denials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Post incoming electronic and manual payments, adjustments, and denials in a credit status due to overpayments and undistributed credits.
  • Reconcile patient accounts and investigate trends and issues that result in payment postings and credit balances.
  • Follow proper control procedures for issuing refunds and investigate and report any discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with the revenue cycle team to ensure accurate and timely payment processing.
Requirements
  • 2-year associate degree in business or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum three years of experience in patient accounting or a related field, with insurance billing experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work with individuals of all cultures and levels of authority.
  • Knowledge of keyboard for CRT, basic accounting and medical terminology, and ability to operate 10-key.
