Job Title: Certified Medication Aide Double Weekend

We are seeking a Certified Medication Aide to join our team at Skyline Nursing Center. As a Certified Medication Aide, you will be responsible for administering medications to residents in accordance with state and federal regulations and licensing requirements.

Responsibilities:
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments as defined by state regulations in accordance with approved techniques and notes time and amount on resident's chart.
  • Deliver routine daily medications as prescribed by physician to residents; pass resident medications in accordance with physician orders and as stated on the Medication Administration Record (MAR).
  • Verify identity of resident receiving medication and record name of drug, dosage, and time of administration on specified forms and records; document reasons prescribed drugs are not administered and report to nursing supervisor.
  • Present medication to residents and observe ingestion or other application, or administer medication, using specified procedures.
  • Document completion of tasks delivered on a daily basis; document any observed change of condition in accordance with local rules and regulations.
  • Communicate between Med Techs/Med Aides about resident needs for consistent quality services.
  • Participate in meal service including serving, clearing, and cleaning the dining room; assure that residents are positioned appropriately for meals; assure that appropriate utensils are within reach of residents; serve food trays and assist with feeding as indicated; deliver and document all a.m., p.m., and bedtime snacks and supplements; provide hydration to all residents according to center policy.
  • Responsible for knowledge of proper procedures to provide personal care services to residents; provide requested personal care services to residents.
  • Observe resident, record significant conditions and reactions, and notify Nurse Supervisor or Physician of resident's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents.
  • Record and restock medication inventories.
  • Prepare equipment and aids nurses during treatments and examination of residents.
  • Check residents in section regularly; answer call light promptly; follow through with resident problems or needs by delivering care or reporting to supervisor depending upon level of ability and nature of resident need.
  • Provide residents' personal hygiene by giving bedpans, urinals, baths, back rubs, shampoos, and shaves; assist with travel to the bathroom; help with showers and baths.
  • Provide resident comfort by utilizing resources and materials; transport residents; answer resident's call lights and request; report observation of the resident to nursing supervisor.
  • Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.
Qualifications:
  • Certified in the state of practice, required.
  • Successful completion of State Approved Nurse Aide Training and Competency Evaluation Program; name must appear on State Registry as Nurse Aide in good standing.
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility preferred.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification (All SNFs; ALFs as required by state).
