- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a medical assistant training program preferred.
- Experience: Related experience in a clinic or medical office setting preferred.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required; certification in Healthcare Access Manager (CHAM), Certification in Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA), or Certification as a Medical Assistant (or other medical specialty-based certification) preferred.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and professionally to patients, families, and healthcare providers.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in computer software and hardware, including electronic medical records systems and other healthcare technology.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to exercise sound judgment in handling and escalating difficult situations, ensuring that patient care is not compromised.
The Patient Access Representative will work in a fast-paced clinical environment, interacting with patients, families, and healthcare providers on a daily basis. The incumbent will be required to work in a patient care area, with exposure to blood, body fluids, and tissue. The risk level of exposure may increase depending on the essential job duties of the role.
