We are seeking a highly skilled Community Liaison to join our team at King County. As a Community Liaison, you will play a critical role in building relationships with community members, advocating for their needs, and providing support to ensure their voices are heard.
Key Responsibilities- Advise Metro staff on engagement planning and materials
- Facilitate, participate in, coordinate and/or document focus groups or community conversations
- Conduct outreach/engagement in person, including advising and co-creating online and social media engagement
- Work with ethnic media to coordinate in-language promotions
- Participate in committees and advisory bodies
- Review community project/program documents and materials
- Serve as an in-language resource and trusted community member at events
- Provide resources and training to community-based organizations (CBO) staff about transit resources
- Create written and verbal reports and notes as it pertains to projects, events, and community partner interactions
- Engagement and relationship-building skills and experience speaking, listening, and engaging with people in the community
- Ability to proficiently document, organize, and report on what they hear from community members
- Ability to provide third party review of written or interpreted content
- Ability to provide interpretation at meetings and events
- Basic organizational skills, ability to maintain/manage details of multiple projects
- Ability to attend weekend and evening events as needed
- Experience using a customer management system
- Current/established relationships with community-based organizations
- Residence in and actively live in King County
- Living in or familiarity with South King County (highly desirable)
We are seeking candidates who are fluent in one or more of the following languages: Spanish, Vietnamese, Chinese, Korean, Russian, Somali, Ukrainian, Amharic, Tagalog, Arabic, and other languages.
