Service Manager Job Opportunity

At Certified Fleet Services, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Service Manager to lead our maintenance and repair operations. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective management of our fleet maintenance and repair operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Schedule and Manage Workflows: Oversee all aspects of the service department, including scheduling, workflow management, and quality control.
  • Maintenance Program Development: Develop and implement maintenance programs to ensure that all vehicles are serviced according to manufacturer guidelines and industry best practices.
  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels of parts and supplies to ensure timely completion of repairs and minimize downtime.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as repair turnaround time, first-time fix rate, and customer satisfaction.
  • Team Training and Development: Train and mentor service technicians to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with other departments, such as fleet operations and procurement, to optimize fleet performance and reduce operating costs.
  • Client Service: Act as a point of contact for clients, addressing their service needs and resolving any issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Industry Knowledge: Stay current with developments in automotive technology and industry trends.
Requirements:
  • Education: GED or High School Diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience in automotive service management, preferably in a fleet maintenance environment.
  • Leadership and Communication Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in fleet management software and other relevant computer applications.
  • Diagnostic and Troubleshooting Skills: Knowledge of vehicle diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of regulatory requirements related to fleet maintenance and safety.
  • Problem-Solving and Decision-Making Skills: Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Customer Focus: Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality service.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to spend prolonged periods of time standing, sitting, or walking; ability to work in enclosed environments exposed to excessive noise, truck shop environment, and cold or heat; must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
