Role Summary:
As a Registered Nurse in the Advanced Care | ICU | Critical Care Unit at Orlando Health Horizon West Hospital, you will be part of a dedicated team in a 120-bed acute-care facility located in the Horizon West community. Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will:
- Exhibit advanced knowledge and skills to provide care for patients requiring intricate assessments and therapies.
- Utilize assessment data to anticipate and respond effectively to rapidly changing patient conditions.
- Monitor and operate specialized medical equipment, interpreting electronic displays such as intracranial pressures and cardiac rhythms.
- Respond to critical situations in accordance with nursing standards and protocols.
- Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans based on ongoing evaluations.
- Serve as a mentor and educator for new staff and nursing students.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure effective management of patient care.
- Document patient care accurately, adhering to all regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Florida or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
- BLS/Healthcare Provider certification required; ACLS, NRP, PALS, and TNCC certifications may be necessary for specific areas.
- A minimum of 2 years of ICU/CCU experience within the last 3 years is preferred.
