TerSera Therapeutics LLC is a dynamic and privately owned specialty pharmaceutical organization with a robust history of growth in the pharmaceutical industry. We are currently seeking a full-time Senior Quality Assurance Manager to support our expanding operations.
The Senior Quality Assurance Manager will report directly to the VP of Quality Assurance and will be tasked with overseeing designated quality management systems and quality operations activities within TerSera Therapeutics LLC.
This role involves managing TerSera's GxP vendors and contracted facilities, serving as the primary expert on quality standards for assigned products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise vendor relationships and collaborate with partners to address communications, resolve issues, and establish expectations and timelines.
- Initiate and conduct investigations into product complaints, quality incidents, deviations, and CAPAs within the electronic Quality Management System (eQMS), ensuring prompt resolution through cross-functional collaboration.
- Lead and participate in regular and ad-hoc meetings with contract facilities for assigned clinical and commercial products, representing the Quality Assurance function.
- Review and approve executed manufacturing and packaging batch records, collaborating with contract facilities to resolve issues prior to batch or material disposition and performing batch release.
- Conduct vendor qualifications, routine audits, and for-cause audits, documenting all audit activities in the Vault eQMS and tracking action items to closure.
- Assist in hosting partner audits and regulatory inspections.
- Compile, analyze, and present key performance metrics in preparation for management review meetings.
- Maintain vendor performance dashboards and manage vendor risk assessments.
- Create, review, and approve quality documents, including policies and procedures.
- Execute additional projects as necessary to meet departmental and organizational objectives.
- Conduct annual product review activities.
- Review and draft vendor quality agreements.
- Initiate, review, and approve change controls, performing QA impact assessments and coordinating timely completion of change actions.
- Review and approve validation protocols, stability protocols, and other quality operations-related documentation.
- Contribute to the preparation of regulatory submission documents and filings.
Non-Essential Functions:
- Maintain a safe working environment by preventing accidents and ensuring safe working practices.
- Exhibit a positive and professional demeanor towards all vendors, customers, partners, and colleagues.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures established by TerSera Therapeutics.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience with Quality Management System elements, including Change Control, Deviation Management, Complaints, Supplier Qualification, and Document Control.
- Strong background in solid dosage forms, aseptic fill-finish manufacturing, and combination product batch review and release.
- Thorough understanding of FDA regulations (21 CFR 4, 11, 210 & 211) and EU Guidelines for Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Proven ability to identify stakeholders and collaborate cross-functionally to resolve quality issues.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
- High adaptability and willingness to shift priorities as quality issues arise.
- Excellent organizational skills, along with strong oral and written communication abilities, suitable for a fast-paced corporate environment.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum: Bachelor's degree in a Life Science or Engineering discipline.
- Required: At least eight (8) years of experience in quality assurance within the pharmaceutical sector.
- Required: Experience managing outsourced cGxP activities.
- Preferred: Auditor certification (ASQ or equivalent) or relevant auditing experience.
- Preferred: Familiarity with Veeva Vault QualityDocs and eQMS suites or similar quality management systems.
