Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Medical-Surgical team at WVU Medicine. As a Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse, you will provide high-quality patient care to individuals with a wide range of medical and surgical conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and prioritize patient needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and therapies as prescribed by physicians, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of care.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, including communication with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Monitor and report patient progress, identifying and addressing any changes or concerns in a timely manner.
  • Provide education and support to patients and families, promoting health literacy and self-management skills.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of evidence-based practices.
Requirements
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of West Virginia or compact state.
  • One year of experience in a Medical-Surgical setting, with a focus on patient-centered care and teamwork.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, with the ability to obtain Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within six months.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
