The Plumbing Superintendent will oversee and coordinate the activities of Foremen involved in the installation of plumbing systems and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interpret specifications, blueprints, submittals, and job orders as necessary for each project.
  • Prepare procurement orders for materials, equipment, and tools required at the start of each project.
  • Develop and modify work sequences to align with construction schedules, utilizing knowledge of equipment capacities and assigned personnel, as well as hand tools and portable power tools per job specifications.
  • Conduct performance evaluations for Foremen and workers to ensure optimal job placement according to blueprint specifications.
  • Analyze schedules and estimate man-hour requirements for project completion.
  • Maintain accurate time records and ensure timely procedures are followed as needed.
  • Identify and resolve work-related issues to achieve mutually beneficial solutions.
  • May be tasked with training Helpers and providing guidance on proper tool handling and work specifications.
  • When necessary, prepare cost estimates for contracts.
  • Communicate company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations across job sites.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • At least four (4) years of field experience as a Plumber in a Mechanical Construction environment.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years or more in leadership roles within commercial construction.
  • Med Gas Certification is a plus.
  • GED or High School Diploma preferred.
  • Proficient in shop math.
  • Skilled in using tools, metals, and machinery.
  • Ability to visualize three-dimensional objects from drawings, sketches, or blueprints.
  • Capable of working within precise limits and standards.
  • Able to perform a variety of tasks that may frequently change.
  • Evaluate information using measurable standards.
  • Proficient in English and able to follow and provide directives to assigned helpers.

Physical Requirements:

Must possess good vision (either naturally or with correction); must be able to hear and speak clearly using professional standard grammar.
Must be capable of using hands, fingers, arms, and legs fully; kneeling, crouching, crawling; climbing and balancing on ladders and scaffolds; climbing stairs, reaching overhead, pushing, pulling, lifting, and stooping.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, with assistance.
