Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Guidance Records Clerk to join our team at Sumter School District. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate and confidential student records, providing exceptional customer service, and supporting the guidance department in various administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain Student Records
    • Ensure the security and confidentiality of cumulative student records
    • Organize and update records in a timely manner
  • Provide Customer Service
    • Assist students and parents with records information
    • Respond to records requests and provide accurate information
  • Support Guidance Department
    • Withdraw students from school and maintain withdrawal information
    • Transfer records electronically to other schools
    • Process records requests and send transcripts to agencies
  • Perform Administrative Tasks
    • Complete forms for DSS, Medicaid, and other agencies
    • Print schedules, rosters, and teacher information as needed
    • File necessary information in student records
Requirements
  • Education
    • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Skills
    • Strong organizational and communication skills
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Proficiency in computer software and office equipment
  • Physical Demands
    • Sedentary work with occasional walking or standing
    • Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force
